Overview

A traditionalist in his ministry, Bishop Moore lead a congregation that still practices the many things that made the Church of God In Christ such a powerful force in the Gospel in its early days. Things like shut-ins, fasting, much prayer and devotional services at each service, including Sunday morning, where the Saints can give testimony to the reality and power of God in their lives, have never ceased to be a part of Moore Temple. He preached strongly the holiness doctrines of the “old days” and has successfully navigated around the many new waves and reformations that have since faded. One of Bishop Moore’s favorite and often quoted scriptures comes from the book of Haggai, chapter 2, verse 3:
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? And how do ye see it now?
Bishop Moore was also the Church’s first historian and today has a massive library of audio tapes, wire recordings, glass substrate phonograph records, photos, and video, that has captured the spirit of the Church of God In Christ of old. Audio and video footage of such pioneers as Bishop Mason, Mother Lillian Brooks Coffey, Bishop Riley Williams and many others, are included in his collection. He provided footage for the C.H. Mason history video that the Church of God in Christ Publishing Board produced.
A.T. Moore, with a combined total of over 70 years pastoral experience, a traditional, firmly rooted dedication to the principals upon which the Church of God In Christ was founded and grew, a selfless, accessible Man of God and devoted father and grandfather, certainly deserves to be honored among men, especially the millions who make up the body of the Church of God in Christ. We at Moore Temple know that he has been and continues to be blessed and anointed of God
The Moore Temple family thanks God for Bishop Moore Emeritus and we pray his continued strength.
